The Su-55P, P not the Russian 'R' stands for Intercepter is a varient/upgrade from the Old Soviet Union (CCCP not HCCP) T-10 prototype which became the Su-27 series. The S-35 was redesignated the Su-35 when thrust vectoring and canards were added. Brought back as the SU-55 post WWIII first as a multirole fighter, it was later specialized as an interceptor after the success of the SU-57. The Su-55 is not as manuverable, not only because of its backward swept wings, but the thrust vectoring system does not move to the angles of the Su-57, allowing for greater thrust without stressing the engine nozzles.
