Note: Remember this is a work of fiction, about what most, if not all people would say would be an impossible situation, no offense is ment to any people of any faith. |

In the post WWIII era for the people of the soon to be NUSR. there were 3 central religous changes that helped nake its survival possible: |
|
At the time of the rift the religious belief of the people of Great Pyotrgrad was:
40% Orthodox
By 105PA it was:
In 87PA Victor Morozov was named Commander of the Southern Recovery Fleet, Victor's grandfather was one of the Old Believers that reconciled with the American Patriarchate, and legend had it that his family was desended or related to Feodosia Morozova, one of the most well known partisans and Saints of the Old Believer movement. Though not part of his or the fleet's assignment, if anything against his orders, Viktor lead a party to the Woodburn area, south of Portland, Oregon. Where he discovered the few thosand survivors of the Old Believer movement. Though hard negotiations and leaning on his family's name, history, and supposed linage Viktor and the head priest of the expedition began to bring the Old Believers to Great Pyotrgrad. This could only occur because the American Patriarchate was more closely aligned with the Old Orthodoxy Movement then at any time since the 1700's and that the Old Believes themselves relized that they were dieing off slowly. Another reason this worked was that historically both communites of Old Believers (Amcan Alliance desent and American Empire desent) had began to make consessions to the outside world in the late 1990s, though still some things remain the same. Fr Example, members of the 93PA+ Church will not eat meat on Wensdays and Fridays. One if the main points of contention was that by 5PA (the actual date has been forgoten in the chaos of the times) All clergy, save Monks could be married. This followed the traditional rules with Deacons, a man could be married, but before ordination, he could not marry after he was ordained. Another serious point of contention, amonst the Old Believers was the of the Doctorine of the "Children of Abraham" As an Article of Faith. This was adpoted after WWIII by the NSUR from Genisis 12:3 God saying unto Abraham And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. This coincided with the Muslim Tradidtion 'ahl al-Kitāb (People of the Book). Both grant that those that recognize the God of Abraham as the one true god, and practice that faith be allowed to do so without interference. This incluses Jews, Christians, and Muslims. What this means is that there is a larger than would be expected clergy in the NUSR then one would exxpect from something calling themselves the Soviet Union. This clergy is more active in defense of its people then most all the Orthodox Churches in Europe, as the Old Belivers had depended on them , not having tecnology to defend themselves and they would never concider magic. The first act of the reconciled church was to annoint Viktor, and the Southern Recovery Fleet "The National Sacred Savior." Many think Victor will be made the Church's first saint, joining his assumed ancestor. The American Patriarchate is lead by the Patriarch of America, with the Holy Snyod, Unlike the Russian Orthodox Church there is no formal Council of Biships, though the 8 Bishops will meet. overseeing these is the Local Council which is madfe up of all 8 bishops and representitives of the Clergy and laypeople. |
