How can I play chess on WebTV?WebTV does not support the Telnet protocol used by most internet chess servers. Nor (I think) does it support Java yet. There are a few sites where you can play chess via strict HTML/CGI based web interfaces that are compatible with WebTV but you can't play at the brisk blitz pace of the telnet protocol based chess servers. If you avoid the Java interface, you can use WebTV with the Caissa.com site above. You can also use the WebChess and ItsYourTurn sites. There may be other sites that I don't know about. |
